What is the purpose of mentorship in NJROTC?

Mentorship in NJROTC primarily serves the purpose of guiding and supporting the development of younger cadets. This relationship fosters an environment where experienced cadets or instructors can share knowledge, skills, and experiences, helping to cultivate leadership qualities and personal growth in less experienced cadets. Through mentorship, younger cadets can feel more confident and capable as they navigate their roles within the program, making the connection between training and real-life applications. While organizing social events and enhancing physical training are indeed important aspects of the NJROTC program, they do not encapsulate the core intention of mentorship.
